Background
Imani 1985 is an indigenous
voluntary initiative established in March 2016 and registered with Lira
District Local Government as a Non-Governmental Organisation to carry out
communications development, Broadcast Media and the Performing Arts production,
research and training. We work to improve, strengthen and promote easy access to quality
and accurate Information, Education and Communications (IEC) on citizen social
support systems, service delivery and economic empowerment interventions. We
are committed to providing and linking opportunities to support,
connect and grow research and information sharing on community transformation
and social development.

An empowered, informed and active
citizens, instrumental and sharing the challenges and responsibility of
transforming and enhancing the effectiveness of their generation.
Mission
Imani 1985 is an indigenous voluntary
initiative that seeks to impart information to the citizens in order to enhance
their effectiveness in making informed, responsible and voluntary decisions;
challenging harmful society beliefs and practices and creation of a safe and
secure environment for the current and next generations.
